The unusual dry landscape that surrounds Pyramid Lake seems strange to hold such a big body of water. Pyramid Lake is a remnant of an ancient lake called Lake Lahanton, a giant inland sea which use to cover a big part of Nevada. The surrounding landscapes of dry lake beds, playas and shoreline contours on the mountains reveals how much water use the cover the land. The brown pastel colors of the desert mixed with the vivid aqua blue of Pyramid Lake makes for some really cool photos. There are some mysteries that surround this lake and if you spend time exploring the shores and nearby mountains, you’ll see how the winds can transform this quiet peaceful desert lake into a raging and dangerous body of water.
